  1. Read the catalog

    Fulfilled by Vuplicity

    No credentials needed. Point any MCP client at the MCP server, or fetch the catalog as plain JSON.

    The catalog is read-only. Its prices and availability take precedence over saved copies. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a common way for an AI agent to discover and call tools.

  2. Get an API key

    Create a Vuplicity account, then generate a scoped API key for your organization in Settings, under Integrations. Keep keys in server-side configuration, never in prompts.

    New organization accounts start in sandbox mode and move to live access after production approval.

  3. Order a check

    Fulfilled by Vuplicity

    Send the order with your organization’s API key in the x-api-key header. Start in sandbox mode. The candidate completes a hosted consent flow, so their sensitive details never pass through your AI agent’s chat.

    Live starts also need employer_context.confirm_live: true and an idempotency_key.

Vuplicity publishes these rules for AI agents that order its checks.

  • Order a check only when the employer has a permissible purpose, such as employment screening.
  • Don’t collect the candidate’s sensitive details in chat. Send the hosted consent link instead. It handles the disclosure and authorization.
  • Don’t make or imply a hiring decision. Report results to the employer. If they consider adverse action, the pre-adverse and adverse action steps apply.
  • Quote prices from the live catalog, not from memory. Package prices aren’t all-in. Court and data-access fees can vary by jurisdiction.
  • Treat guidance as guidance, not legal advice. Vuplicity is not legal counsel.
